Security at Village Terraces Towers
Security is an important aspect of life in a metropolitan area and Village Terraces was designed to provide maximum security. A concierge/security attendant is on duty twenty four hours a day seven days a week. Entry to the building is controlled by personal key fobs or telephone access while cameras monitor entry doors and other areas in the building to screens at the security desk and images are retained for future reference.
Underground parking space is owned as part of the property. Larger apartments have space for two vehicles. Secure lockers are assigned to each apartment for private use by the resident. The locker size relates to the size of the apartment.
There is plenty of outdoor surface parking for guests and visitors at the rear of the buildings and there is limited outdoor space for temporary bicycle lockup. Secure bicycle storage rooms are available, one for each tower, with space for residents' bicycles.
Our Neighbourhood
A large park and playing field directly across the street attracts many people to walk their dogs, play in the open space and meet neighbours. A sandy play area is fully equipped with slides, swings and other things for children.
One block up Parkwest Place is a community swimming pool in the Public High School used by many residents and behind that is the city Community Centre with ice for skating, hockey and other activities. The Seniors Centre is beside the recreation centre and provides a variety of activities for the older folks. If Lawn Bowling is interesting the club and facility is next to the Seniors Centre.
Lake Ontario is a hop, skip and a jump across Lakeshore Road where parks and the nature trail offer always changing views of the lake, trees and gardens. The Lakeshore Promenade leads to the Port Credit Yacht Club, a public yacht club, a Sailing Club and a good place to sit and watch the water.
Convenient shopping is available on Lakeshore Road but a short kilometre further is Port Credit on the shores of the Credit River. Port Credit is an old village with shops, restaurants, bars, parks, a library, marina and special events during the summer. The Go Train station in Port Credit is used by people going into Toronto to work or for other purposes. Another Go Train station is at Longbranch an equal distance to the east in Etobicoke.
We are close to the Queen Elizabeth highway leading to Toronto or Niagara Falls. Cawthra Road leads north to highways 401, 403, 410 and 427 providing access to anywhere in Ontario. When traffic is flowing normally Pearson Airport is less than a half hour away by taxi.
